cappers, when autocapping, what do you set the fps?

Okay, here is an action to sharpen all the frames of your .gif for the above type of smart sharpening. BE WARNED THOUGH - this works only on HD/720p/1080p videos, if it’s lower quality it looks gross.

  • To load, download the file, then save it wherever you want.
  • In photoshop, click ‘load actions’ in the drop down menu for actions.
  • Find and select the file you downloaded.
  • Press play!

P.S. Do not delete any frames of the .gif before using this, it won’t work.
P.P.S. Check my gif tutorial for info on how I make .gifs. I’m not sure this will work if you make them by importing single caps, rather than importing video frames to layers.

NEW GIF TUTORIAL!

I’ve been meaning to update my first tutorial for a while now since I feel I’ve learned a lot since then. In this tutorial I will cover what I covered in the first along with where to find HQ Logoless downloads, how to convert .mkv files, sharpening, tips to reduce the size of your gif, and whatever else pops into my head along the way.

stanatic asked: "your the good wife Gifs are GREAT!!!!thank you for post them!how do you do Gifs so wonderful?"

Thank you so much! As for making gifs, I’ve posted tutorials here, though I’ve been thinking of updating them as I feel I’ve learned more since those were posted.

Also have a look at these other wonderful tutorials:

I hope that helps. :)

I hope that helps those of you who are asking about where we get our screencaps. As for .psd colorings, you could ask one of us (be specific!) or check out Fuck Yeah Resources.

@anon: Unfortunately there’s no easier way to sharpen .gifs. You have to sharpen them one at a time. When you make other frames visible and stay on on the first frame and layer it tends to screw things up because you’re not going back to make them not visible.
Here’s how I sharpen:
Select your first frame and your first layer
Filter > Sharpen
Edit > Fade Sharpen (50-70)
Select the next frame and when you do, the next frame in your layers should become visible, select that layer as well.
Filter > Sharpen
Edit > Fade Sharpen (50-70)
And repeat this until you’ve done it to all your frames
It’s very time consuming, I know, but I know no other way.
IMPORTANT: Both frame and corresponding layer need to be selected when you sharpen.

If you need an actual visual leave me another message and I’ll try to put something together. :)
@chorelle: Yay! I was working on another one, but got stuck, so I’ll try to finish it tomorrow. I couldn’t tell you, but it would be really adrobs and then Damon and Elena can go be together and the fandom could be happy again. They’re really bumming me out.
@anon: You’re welcome. I’m glad they helped! :)

ddrewbiebs asked: "sorry, could you tell me what is the action or the psd you use for your ediction please?"

Sorry, but what is an ediction? :/

I rarely use actions, but the ones I do have downloaded are by night-fate. I’ve also linked to several psds/coloring in the past. Most the time I make a new psd for every cap/gif.

If you can explain more, i’d be happy to help.

Just a thought, but you should activate your ask box, as it is easier for me to go into more detail.

letscheckshoes asked: "64-bit cs5 wont import video or something. idk. I have to use caps to make gifs.
Put caps in a folder (after editing them etc), open folder in bridge, tools>photoshop>load files into photoshop layers
that'll open them in photoshop, go to windows, check animation if it's not already open at the bottom
then in the bottom right of the animation box thing, there is a wee tab with three squares, click it and it will no longer be a timeline but will have one of the caps loaded. then go to top right of animation box, (little arrow pointing down and lines beside it, click that, choose make frames from layers. Usually for me they load in the wrong order, so sort that, then you can click on relevant arrows at bottom left (once or continuous/click cap arrows to choose length etc)
When all done;
file>save for web and devices.
If it's above 500k you can change colour amount from there, but I usually just reduce the size until it's right.
Sorry this is so rushed, I'm not very good at explaining things, and this probably isn't the anon's problem! :S"

OH OH OH! YES, THAT COULD DEFINITELY BE IT!

Obviously I wasn’t awake enough to remember this little quirk of CS5!

It’s delightful! /sarcasm

Above is the Windows explanation, sort of, I think. IDK, but once you said 64 bit I remembered. Maybe this will work for you too. I hope!

CS5 comes defaulted as operating in 64-bit mode. What you have to do is change it to 32-bit mode, it gives a lot more options to play with, including opening videos as avi. I’m sure this can be sort of translated to Windows, I’m just not sure exactly what all the specifics are. Anyway, here are the steps…

I’m so hoping this is the problem.
Let there be miracles!

OH, and anon, and whoever else tries this, let me know if it worked. I’d really appreciate it! THANK YOU!

Anonymous asked: "hihihihihi :) umm how do you tag your asks? :)"

morning anon,

You can either queue it and then edit or publish then edit.

voilà! :D

Anonymous asked: "Can you please recommend tumblrs that make psds?"

I don’t know of any tumblrs that solely make .psds. I’m sure there are, but I haven’t come across them.

These are the only people I can think of off the top of my head. I hope that helps.
